Hello, my name is James Lefay Bishop. I am a local author from Southern Maryland. Like other writers before me, it was has been my dream to be an author since I was young. I remember reading Anne Rice and Maggie Shayne thinking, "that's what I want to do!" Now, I'm six books in. Ascent from Chaos: Rising from Ashes, Know Thy Enemy, Unlucky 13, and Allegiance. Under my other name, I have several more. J.M Skalby. Trials of Snow Haven, Bane of Snow Haven. Tale of the Blade, and Scar of the Blade. I also have a horror novel, Look at Me, and now, City of Malice. I am so proud of all these books. All of my books are available on Kindle Unlimited as well. If you want a stellar read, give me a try!

I've had friends and strangers alike ask me what inspires me. The answer to that is everything. I find inspiration in just about everything. But, I can't neglect the biggest influencer, my lovely wife Vivian VanDam. She has been my muse, especially these last several years.

When not writing I enjoy reading, playing video games, and spending time with my family and our dogs.

I hope you enjoy my work, and I appreciate you taking the time to look at my books and my bio. Have a nice day!
